If it's just one extension and not dozens of extensions,
you can set the asterisk as a "go to folder" extension and set it to go up one extension.
I think the asterisk option is for any extension and not just the file extension.

Explain the story a little more, where it comes from, where exactly you want to direct it, and how the extension to which you want to add the definition is defined.

The "GO TO FOLDER" plugin is not a plugin that you stay in, but immediately move to another plugin, and the question of which plugin you are in is whether there will be permissions to add the asterisk key. For example, in a menu plugin, this can be set like this:
"hash_extension=yes"

@Shulem If the extension is a playfile - you need to define in the extension like this:

control_play*=go_to_folder
playfile_control_play_*_goto=/1/30

But if the extension is a menu - you will need to define in the ext.ini file like this:

star_extension=yes
text_extensions=yes

And create a file in the extension called ExtensionNumbersAndAssociations.ini and define in it like this:

Star=/1/30
